Canine Search Team
We are willing and able to schedule fun and informative demonstrations and talks to better familiarize the community with our team, the importance of search dogs and how they work! Contact us to discuss possible scheduling.
We are hoping to offer free informative talks and classes on subjects such as lost person behavior, how families can be proactive in preparing for dementia walkaways, and important steps to take if they find themselves in that situation. We are scheduled to be certified in multiple "train the trainer" courses over the next few months and look forward to bringing that information and training home to Hawaii! Check back soon for updates or let us know if you'd like to be contacted when this becomes available!
We currently have one deployment ready canine available, and two canines in training. Our deployable team is certified in scent specific tracking/trailing in both suburban and wilderness environments, and is capable of following a specific persons trail over a variety of terrain. This team trains to follow the trail for miles, and are capable of searching hours...even days after that person has left the area.
Our teams are training with a focus on home/facility "walk away" situations specifically for the elderly and for those who live with memory disease such as Dementia and Alzheimer's.
Our handlers train in working with Dementia and Alzheimer's patients and have familiarized ourselves with the specific needs and unique approaches that are required when working with memory disease patients. We believe this is one of the most underserved and underacknowledged demographics of lost persons and have made it our mission to fill at least a portion of that lack of resources here in Hawaii.
Any search is an emergency. We are available by phone 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. This includes all holidays. We would rather get a call at 2am, show up to search, and have the missing person be walking back in the door as we park then have you wait and report them missing hours later if they don't return! The most important thing to us is that your loved one gets home safely! Please see our "frequently asked questions" section for general information about our search guidelines and requirements. Don't hesitate to contact us for more information and with any questions you may have!
